IATA Releases Dangerous Goods Regulations Addendum

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released a second addendum to the 56th Edition of the Dangerous Goods Regulations.

Posted on May 4th 2015, the addendum will be effective immediately.

Addendum II covers changes to several sections of the Dangerous Goods Regulations, noting new or amended state variations, new or amended operator variations, and updates to Section 2 and Section 4.

A number of the changes relate to the rapidly shifting regulatory and commercial frameworks for the transport of lithium batteries. Cathay Pacific and Cargolux became the latest airlines to place heightened restrictions and outrights bans on lithium batteries late last month.

The new addendum can be accessed from IATA’s website here.
